Day 7 – Day of Rest

Good Sunday morning everyone! (Like a ton of people even read this blog! LOL)

Today is my day off from formal exercise. My legs are sore from yesterday’s squats and lunges and I actually slept in until 6am. It was a night full of interruptions however. DD#1 kept waking up. First her nose was so plugged she couldn’t breathe, she also HATES to actually blow her nose so she’ll wipe it until the cows come home and it gets red and raw and sore. Then her tooth hurt. She does have a few loose teeth and we can’t wait for them to finally fall out. Finally she complained that her ear hurt inside. After getting up many times with her DH finally went and laid by her so she’d go to sleep. When she wakes up if there is still ear pain we’ll be going to Urgent Care at 11am.

We have no major plans for today, just relaxing at home and taking it easy. I hope everyone else is having a great day. I’ll be posting more later on. I haven’t even eaten breakfast yet, but my tummy is starting to talk to me. πŸ™‚

Breakfast was oatmeal and a thin with cinn/truvia on it. Yummy! I have an idea for my oatmeal tomorrow, something different so stay tuned! πŸ™‚

My morning snack was a cocoa/capp and then yogurt with fruit. Nothing exciting there. Lunch was a veggie burger on a thin with romaine lettuce, red onion, ketchup and mustard. Along side it was some brussels sprouts and broccoli. I followed it up with my version of dessert butternut squash. I put a tad of brown sugar, spray butter, honey and the secret ingredient is pumpkin pie spice! It’s almost like pumpkin pie. Although this squash is cubed, it tastes better with the mashed squash.

After lunch I prepared jellos for the next couple of days.

Right now I’m munching on my trail mix combo. Cheerios, bran flakes, raisins and sunflower seeds. I’m eating it piece by piece! LOL

On a good note, DD#1 seems much better than last night. I’m convinced now she was plugged up because she was sniffling so much. We are all having a low key day and I like it.

Okay, this afternoon I had some popcorn and a tad more trail mix. Therefore I wasn’t super hungry when supper rolled around. I had 2 oz. of turkey roast, a baked potato with salsa and some green beans, along with 1/2 c. of milk and some toast. I’m full and I’m done eating for today! I’ll post the pic tomorrow after my camera charges back up.

So I ended the day on a high note, 33 points. I have 1 WPA left and I earned 28 APs. My week starts over tomorrow and it’s also WI time! Dun.dun.dun. We’ll see what the hunk of metal and plastic says in the morning. πŸ˜›

Day 6 – CPR Saturday

Morning all! This morning I got in 30 min. on the treadmill, 10 min. on the elliptical and level 3 of the 30 day shred dvd. I’m feeling great and I’m looking forward to relearning CPR today. I figured it’s been about 20 years since my last CPR class. Time sure does fly!

This morning I had my oatmeal for breakfast along with a toasted thin and sf jam. Lunch today will be at the hospital cafeteria. I’m thinking salad and probably a turkey sandwich. I’ll have to see what they have to offer.

CPR class went great! The instructor was very down to earth and a great teacher. I felt at ease the whole time and really did learn a lot. Now I’m hoping I NEVER have to use what I learned. Before the class I munched on an apple.

Since the class was small we got out just before lunch so DH and I went to Subway. I forgot to photo the 6″ ham sub I had. I fully intended too, I had the camera in my purse and everything, but since I’m new at this blogging-thing I forgot!

Then it was off to Walmart to find a sports bra with some support for Zumba. Thank goodness I found one and if it works out well I’ll go back for more. DH also helped me decide on new eyeglass frames. I need to get in sometime soon and get my eyes checked and the worst part is picking out decent looking frames.

After getting home from picking up the girls I munched on popcorn andΒ  a small pear. I’m debating on my cocoa/capp as I type! LOL

Supper was a repeat of 2 nights ago. Tortellini stew and a salad, followed up by a thin with cinnamon/truvia.

I’m sure tonight will hold a snack of some sort it seems to be my way. πŸ™‚

I did have one serving of popcorn and ONE serving of trail mix last night.

I ended the day with 29 points and earned 4 APs. I still have 10 of my WPA left for Sunday.

Day 5 – Finally Friday!

It’s Friday! I don’t know why I get so excited since I’m a SAHM. I guess it just means I’ll be done watching other people’s children and get to just take care of my own. πŸ™‚

This morning started out with me hitting snooze about 3 times before I drug myself out of bed. I got in 30 min. on the elliptical and 20 min. of abs and arms. I’m also going to Zumba again this morning since my favorite teacher is leading the class.

After my workout I had my oatmeal and a juicy orange. I’m definately going to have to spend some more money on those oranges, it reminds me of summer just eating them.

Tomorrow DH and I are taking a CPR class. One of my new year’s goals was to relearn CPR and First Aid. I’m hoping to come away with enough knowledge so I’d feel comfortable helping someone out in need.

Here’s a photo of my yummy yogurt I had before Zumba. It had fresh strawberries and banana in it.

Zumba was fun, it was a small class so there was plenty of space to move around. She had me working up a sweat.

Lunch was Asian inspired. I had some stir-fry. It had cabbage, peppers, mushrooms, onions, pea pods, carrots, celery, rice, shrimp and sesame seeds. It was delicious and steaming hot! I then had a toasted thin with cinn/sugar (truvia) on it. Followed by a small sf jello.

My afternoon snack was popcorn and cocoa/capp.

Supper was taco night. Toasted flatout chips, lettuce, salsa, sour cream and refried beans with cheese. Followed by pb/banana/toast. This is one of my comfort foods from my childhood. Sometimes it just hits the spot!

After supper we sat around the kitchen table and helped the girls with some of their learning books. DD#2 is starting to learn to read simple words so we were working on that. DD#1 was more into crossword puzzles with dad.

We then watched Ghost Whisperer I had a serving of air popped popcorn and my notorious trail mix. Most times trail mix gets me in trouble, meaning I can not stop at one serving. I felt totally in control of my food and knew that this was it and I was okay with it.

Day 4 – Sunny Thursday!

I’m soooo happy the sun is out today! I know I suffer from S.A.D. to some extent and this really boosts my mood.

I got up at 4:30am to get my exercise in for the day. 15 min. on the elliptical, followed by 15 min. of legs and then another 20 min. on the elliptical. All in all 3 APs.

My breakfast was oatmeal. πŸ™‚ Now I am burning my tongue enjoying my cocoa/capp. Before I head out to school this morning I will be again having my yogurt mess. I am heading to Pierce’s today to stock up on some Quaker items. There is an awesome sale going on along with a $3 off coupon. So I’m going to stock up on oatmeal and granola bars (for snacks at school). I love a good bargain!

Well, volunteering went great! I was organizing math quizzes, call me crazy but I LOVE to organize! It was right up my alley and the hour flew by before I even knew it. Of course, I didn’t get everything done, but I made a huge dent in it for her.

For lunch I had a repeat, hummus and veggies along with some butternut squash and a small jello (no pic).

Okay, my afternoon snack was popcorn and another cocoa/capp.

Supper was yummy! Baked sweet potato, carrots and meatloaf. Along with some milk and a cinnamon/sugar thin afterwards.

My evening snack was popcorn, I was feeling extra munchy.

In total I used 29 DPs and earned 3 APs. I have a running total of 18.5 APs so far and 25 of my WPA left for the next 3 days. Good night.

Day 3 – Ouch!

Well, this morning started out okay. I was going to sleep in and just go to Zumba for exercise, but guilt consumed me and I got up for a 45 min. run/jog on the treadmill. Afterwards as I was stretching I noticed I’m having some lower back/hip pain. You know what that means? Time to call the chiropractor. I don’t go very often, but when I do go I crunch and crack all over the place! πŸ™‚

After earning my 3 APs I had some oatmeal. This will probably be one of the last photos of it unless I change up my formula. It just looks like every other morning so you get the idea.

I’m going to Zumba again this morning at 9:30. My plan is to go every Monday and Wednesday and then volunteer at school on Tuesday and Thursday.

Wonderful! I got into the chiropractor BEFORE Zumba so that helped a lot. Before I headed out the door to the bone-cracker I had my typical yogurt mess. (Again, probably the last photo since this doesn’t change much).

Β Then I went out looking for new eyeglass frames. I’m super picky and I didn’t have any luck this morning at Goldthorpe or David-Deuhr Dean. I did however have luck at Wal-Mart of all places. Go figure it’s also cheaper there!

Before Zumba I chomped on an apple and afterwards I had this yummy and filling lunch. Roasted veggies and a veggie burger. Afterwards I enjoyed a sugar-free jello.

I just got back from a successful shopping trip at Wal-Mart. What makes it successful? I didn’t buy chocolate, ice cream or grab a diet soda on my way out. I know diet soda isn’t a big deal, but I told myself no more until March 1st and I’m sticking to it! I’m having my capp/cocoa right now and soon I’ll be having popcorn to tide me over until supper.

Tonight’s supper was Italian Tortellini Stew and a salad. Afterwards I had some light toast with peach sf jam for my sweet fix.

My nightly snacks were grapes with sliced orange and later on some more popcorn. I was in a snacky mood last night.

I ended the day with 27 DPs and 5.5 APs. I still have 30 WPA left for the next 4 days.

Day 2 – Feeling Great!

Morning everyone! I got up early to do 15 minutes of cardio for warm-up, followed by 45 minutes of arms/abs/butt workout, then I ended it with another 15 minutes of cardio. I have 3 activity points for today.

After all that activity a warm breakfast was in order. You guessed it! Oatmeal!

This morning I’m volunteering in my daughter’s 1st grade classroom. Her teacher is back from maternity leave so this will be the first time I’ll be working with her as a helper. I’m looking forward to getting to know her a bit better and I always enjoy helping out at school.

Before I left for school I had my morning snack of yogurt and fruit. It doesn’t photo well, but it tastes great! πŸ™‚

Lunch today was delicious and filling. Tofu shirataki noodles, marinara sauce, marinated veggies in oliveΒ oil, chopped up portabello burger all topped with parmesan cheese. I had an Arnold’s thin with garlic salt, leftover broccoli and beans to round it out. I’m stuffed!

Oh, in case you were wondering. I drink a lot of water throughout the day, along with sugar-free flavored drinks. I don’t photo them all, but between you, me and my bladder I drink a lot!

My afternoon snacks were pretty much on par with yesterday. You’ll find I’m a creature of habit. Cocoa/capp and popcorn.

Supper was turkey/beef meatloaf, mashed garlic potatoes, cooked carrots and green beans, all with a glass of milk.

Of course it was followed by sugar free jello, 2 of them in fact! I love peach with applesauce, yummo! πŸ™‚

I’ll be watching Biggest Loser tonight and possibly enjoying a snack later on Right now it’s time to get the kiddos in the tub so they are presentable for school tomorrow.

So I watched most of the BL. It seems as the seasons go on I just lose more and more interest in it. I becomes more about game play and being snotty than worry about their health and losing weight. I usually like to watch the weigh-in, it’s always exciting to see people lose so much weight. Sometimes I think, man if I could lose 10# in a week, I’d be done losing! I’m more like a turtle when it comes to weight loss and I’ve accepted that. Slow and steady wins the race.

BTW, I did snack on an apple and pear during the show. No pic though since my camera was dead!

I used 25 DPs and earned 3 APs! Go me!

Day 1 – On My Way!

This is what I was greeted with this morning! NOT where I want to be. I have about 17# to lose to get to my happy weight of 148#.

So I hopped on the elliptical and treadmill for a combined total of an hour of cardio this morning.

Then I ate this lovely bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I had oats, milk, shredded carrots, fresh cranberries, flaxseed, wheat germ, cinnamon, truvia, cloves and canola oil in it. Whew! Delicious!

Followed by an orange since I was still hungry!

I’ll be going to Zumba this morning from 9:30-10:30 and can’t wait. It’s so much fun to dance around!

Before I left for Zumba I had some yogurt and berries! Nommm…nomm..

Zumba was great, I was sweating like crazy! Towards the end I rolled my ankle a bit, but nothing major or painful, thank goodness.

I stopped at the library to pick up some books to read. I hate finding new authors, it’s very hard to keep my interest in a book and if it doesn’t ‘hook’ me off the bat I won’t even read it. I was happy to see the new Janet Evanovich book was in.

Lunch was hummus, veggies and toasted pita chips.

Afterwards I enjoyed a diet hot cocoa/cappuccino mix.

My afternoon snack was popcorn and a sugar-free popsicle.

Supper was a delicious grilled chicken sandwich, broccoli, snap peas and homemade potato chips, along with a glass of milk. I then had sugar-free jello for dessert.

Finally I rounded out the night with a bowl of sliced apple and pear.

My day ended with using 25 points and I earned 7 activity points.

Day 1 was a success!
