Happy Birthday to Me!

Good afternoon! Busy birthday already!

Let’s see. I woke up at 4:30am, no surprise here. I decided to do my traditional birthday mileage for my morning workout. That means I walked/jogged/and ran 3.87 miles with the cooldown walk. Yep, I’m 38 today. I still feel like I’m in my 20’s. After my 45 minutes on the treadmill I came upstairs to pick up a bit. I enjoyed some quiet time before the family woke up.

Once everyone was up I got to open my gifts. I got a large painted wooden heart from C. It has a heart cut-out so I’m going to put their picture in there. I also got some extreme moisturizing hand cream and gloves for me to wear. I have awfully dry skin on my hands and this should help with that problem. I got a new lunch box to use for my upcoming job and inside hubby statshed some new dish clothes. πŸ˜› He wanted to get me a new bread machine, but they didn’t carry it in the store. He said I can order the one I want.

My birthday wish was to go hiking around the Mackenzie Center and to look at the animals. We did that for over 1 1/2 hours. Then we drove around the town so I could find out where the splashpad was. The other part of my wish was to have hubby help me in the garden. A lot of plants are dead and it’s easier for him to load up the trailer on the lawnmower and take it down into the woods. So, that’s done. My final wish is for the kids to pick up the porch, it’s a disaster and it’s THEIR disaster. Let’s see if my final wish comes true! πŸ˜›

I need to type out my upcoming week…

  • Monday – Zumba
  • Tuesday – Walk on levee, work Weight Watchers, hubby may have jury duty
  • Wednesday – work Weight Watchers, hubby has appointments
  • Thursday – Farmer’s Market, watch Tami’s kids, go to parent/teacher conferences
  • Friday – Zumba, 1/2 day of school for the kids
  • Saturday – Zumba, wide open! πŸ™‚

I’m normal?

I find that hard to believe! I think I’m extraordinary! LOL So, I called the clinic yesterday to find out my blood test results. It turns out everything is fine, hmm…..so why no period? I’ve been googling the issue. Am I too thin? No. Do I exercise obsessively? I don’t think so. So what to do? I’m going to work on adding more oil (healthy fat) into my diet. I’m going to take my Fish Oil supplement 3 times a day like the bottle says. I’m also going to have 1 t. of olive or canola oil 3 times a day. The other thing I read is upping my protein. I definitely need to try harder. I always have protein with supper and usually with lunch, but since my breakfast is oatmeal, that’s not a lot of protein. Is a change in order?

Enough of that. Yesterday I weighed in for Lose for Good and was EXACTLY the same, 149.4#! I’ll take it. Last night I went a tad overboard on the carbs, nothing awful, but I feel the puffiness in my fingers this morning, the scale said 150.2#.

My morning workout was 15 minutes on the elliptical and then Week 3 with Jillian. Saturday will be my final workout of Week 3, thank goodness, I’m ready to move on. Soon I’m headed out for a short walk around the neighborhood, listening to my new tunes! It’s still pretty chilly out, but once I get walking I warm up pretty quickly.

I have a haircut at 12:30 and then after that I’m going to check out the farmer’s market (I think) and the library. I have a bunch of books into to refresh my brain about the computer programs I’ll be using at work in a couple of weeks.

Once C gets off the bus we’ll head into town to pick up her sister and then head out to Weight Watchers. Hubby will be picking up the girls while I work.

Oh, yesterday after WW my two co-workers and I headed out for lunch at Jimmy John’s. It was so nice to sit and chat with them. We chat at work, but we aren’t able to talk about much of importance other than things related to work. We vowed to do it again next month and to try to keep it up. πŸ™‚

Weigh-In and Rest

Good morning! This morning my body was tired out, exhausted really. I decided to skip my workout and take a bubble bath instead! Good choice.

I weigh-in today for Lose for Good. My home scale had me at 148.8# which is down from last week, but who knows what will happen at 12:15pm. πŸ™‚

I went shopping yesterday and found a great pair of hiking/running Asics on clearance. They are going to be my everyday shoes since the current ones I’m wearing are old and slightly uncomfortable. I only found one sweater-type shirt at Kohl’s. I can’t believe how hard it is to find clothes I like. Ugg…I’m heading to Goodwill again before work. They are constantly changing what clothes they have, so I need to take another look.

After work today, my two co-workers and I are going out for lunch together. Jimmy John’s is on the menu, I haven’t been there in ages. I’m looking forward to some chatting outside of work.

The leaves are changing!

Good morning! No, I didn’t fall off the wagon, I just didn’t blog yesterday. πŸ™‚

My workout yesterday was 10 minutes on the elliptical and then Week 3 with Jillian. My abs and hamstringsΒ were(are)Β sore from Bob’s DVD on Sunday. I also went to Zumba yesterday. It was a good class until a former co-worker showed up at 10am! Really! She’s always been a dingbat! πŸ˜› I even managed a short walk after lunch yesterday, I wanted to earn a lot of APs.

My workout this morning was 30 minutes on the treadmill and a small bit of ab work and stretching. My hammies are still sore as are my obliques! I also have a walking date at 8:30am with Gemma.

This evening I work in Reesdburg for Weight Watchers, I only have 3 more Tuesdays left until I’m done working there until January. I’m thinking of leaving super early and heading to Kohl’s along the way. I desperately need long sleeve, warm shirts. I got rid of a lot of my old things and need something to wear to work. It’s always cold there and I know I need the long sleeves. Seems like the only reason I need to shop! LOL

The scale is holding at 150 on the nose today. I weigh-in tomorrow and I don’t know if I’ll see a loss or not, I’d like to, but who knows.

Good morning! I guess I didn’t blog yesterday, whoops. πŸ˜›

Yesterday my workout was just the treadmill. Then the girls and I hit up a bunch of stores….St. Vincent’s, Goodwill, Walmart, Library, Kwik Trip, Tami’s House, Tammy’s House & Jung’s. Hubby was working a side job so we ventured out as just us girls! It was a busy day, but it went quickly.

I had also asked my friend Tami to burn me some new songs. Thankfully she did and they are great! I loaded them on my music player last night, so when I walk this coming week I’ll have something decent *and motivating* to listen to.

Today my workout was a Bob Harper DVD from the library. Something like totally ripped core! Yeah,Β  it hurt and I was sweating and mildly cursing him. I’m glad the 45 minutes went fast! I’m sure I’ll feel it tomorrow. The scale reads 149.4, not as low as yesterday’s 148.2#, but still under 150. I’m still shooting for a loss at weigh-in on Wednesday.

This afternoon the girls and I are going to plant some tulip and hyacinth bulbs we bought at Jung’s. I told them it’s part of my birthday present, the bulbs AND the fact they are going to help me weed and plant. πŸ™‚ We’ll see if they hold up their end or not.

Hubby is going to work again today, but should be done with his job. He’s looking forward to the extra ‘fun’ money to have again.

A job, finally!

Good morning! Good news, I have a part-time temporary job at my old place of employment. I’m thankful for it. I need to work, I need money and I also am not 100% committed to being away from my children in the summer. This job has me working Oct. 15-Christmas at 32-36 hours a week. Then possibly Jan-Mar at 20-24 hours per week. I’m doing it! I’m thankful for the flexibility in my schedule and for my friend Tami for saying Yes to having the girls get off the bus at her house. It’s so hard as a parent, I worry about my kids and it makes me happy to know they’ll be in good hands when I’m not around. Yeah, I’m a control freak! Sue me. πŸ˜›

My workout was 20 minutes on the elliptical and then Week 3 with Jillian. I wasn’t going to do her DVD today, but then figured I should stick with my original plan. I have one more week of Week 3 and then 2 weeks of Week 4 and I’m done with her. It also coincides with when I’ll be returning to work. Sadly, I won’t be able to go to Zumba on Monday & Friday mornings once I work. I’ll probably try to supplement with Saturdays and maybe a Sunday here or there. I’ll have to figure it out.

In other wonderful news, the scale was down to 148.8# this morning! I’m getting towards my goal of 145#. It’d be awesome to get there before I start back to work, but I won’t be sad if I’m not. The other issue of concern for me is sitting at work for 8 hours a day and I don’t want to gain weight! So, I’ve been thinking about that too. I’ll obviously continue working out at 4:30am with one day off during the week. Too make up for my lack of activity I’m going to have to walk on the treadmill at night for 1/2 hour. I’m also thinking of not eating at my desk at work. Meaning, I’ll eat breakfast at home, take a 15 min. midmorning break for a snack, 1/2 hour for lunch and a 15 min. afternoon break for another snack. I will be able to drink at my desk, duh, but I’m going to ban food. I’m also going to make sure I get up every so often and move around. I’ll be going in to my work in a bit to discuss the details with Dusty. I’m hoping for Wednesday’s off.

Lock ’em up!

Morning! Yesterday was a good day. Work was awesome! We had 50 people weigh-in and 41 stayed for the meeting! It was packed. I weighed in too and was at 149.4#, down 1.2# from the week before. Sweet! Next Wednesday my co-workers and I are going out to lunch together. We’ve been talking about it forever and decided to do it next week in honor of my upcoming birthday.

Today is my day-of-rest. I don’t ‘exercise’ per se, but I’ve made jello, washed a ton of dishes, baked muffins for L’s potluck tomorrow, laundry is started, the girls sheets have been changed and beds are made, I have a roast in the crock pot (and just need to get celery out of the garden). I also need to prep some salads yet today and possibly head to Fashion Bug to look for clothes.

So, I tried to sleep in today, but I’m sure you are familiar with my CAT! Well, she had other ideas. Like meowing at 3:45am. The solution? Put her in the basement. The door is on the opposite end of our house and I figured I’d rather clean up poop or puke than be awoken by the cat! LOL Turns out she was just fine when hubby let her upstairs and that’s the method we are going to use to try to break her of the habit of meowing so darn early!
