So, I just logged in my final book read for 2012. Rules by Cynthia Lord. My daughter L had read it a while back and I decided to give it a try. It’s a nice quick read with a good message for kids and everyone. Don’t let what others think about your or your family affect how you act or see yourself.

Good afternoon! This morning the family and I ventured out to snowshoe! It was pretty fun except for my cold fingers! Next time I’ll remember to wear wool mittens and not gloves.
Later on today my friend Rachel and her family are stopping by to visit on their way to Milwaukee from Minneapolis. I’m excited to see them all, their boys grow so fast.

I’m going to try to blog a bit more in the new year since my job will be winding down.
Today our youngest turns 8! It’s hard to believe it’s been so long. This morning she was up bright and early, like 4AM early! Eak. We managed to wait until after 7am to open gifts, since that’s when Dad woke up. 😛
She got some new books that she wanted, new yoga pants, fuzzy pj pants and crazy socks! She also received some money from relatives that she can’t wait to spend.
Since I don’t blog every day now it’s hard to know what to type about. Let’s see…yesterday we ran a bunch of errands, watched Men In Black 3 and had homemade chicken noodle soup for supper. It was my first time boiling a whole chicken to make broth. Pretty cool!
Today, C turns 8. She’s already opened her gifts and is happily playing with the Calculator Magic that she got. L and Dad went snowshoeing again. Dad took the girls yesterday afternoon so I had a bit of time to myself, love it!
On tap for today is making dough ornaments and possibly going to Goodwill. We have a movie to return so we might as well do a bit of shopping. LOL
For her birthday supper C has requested Ham & Corn Souffle. Such a classy kid! LOL I won’t be eating it since I do LIKE it, but it does nothing for me as far as making me feel satisfied. I’ll be making a separate dinner for me.
Tomorrow is Christmas Eve and I have something special planned for the afternoon. I’ll divulge photos tomorrow. I am heading to a 9am Zumba class too! I’m excited about that since it’s been a long time since I’ve gone to class.

Good morning! Yesterday was a whirlwind! We dropped the girls off at 1pm and headed to Madison to shop. We got down there around 2pm and hit up a bunch of stores…..Shopko, Target, Michael’s, iGoodwill, Aldi & Woodman’s. All we have left to buy are some stocking stuffers and 2 gifts for our neice and nephew. The rest are all wrapped and under the tree!
Hubby and I went out to eat at Red Lobster. The wait for a table was a tad over 30 minutes, but I was determined to get some lobster and shrimp! I’m happy I stuck to my food plan and even enjoyed 1/2 of their delicious biscuits! I could have eaten more, but chose not to. When we left I was full. Comfortable but full, happy I didn’t decide to eat dessert and put my stomach over the edge. NSV all the way!
This morning’s workout was 35 minutes on the treadmill, some running, some jogging and some walking while I watched the end of Bones. Then hubby and I got to wrapping presents and cleaning up the house a bit. They kids get home in an hour, so I’m sure the house will be a mess again! LOL
My upcoming week doesn’t have much going on for me, but for the kiddos.

- Tuesday – exercise, work, pickup L from her BOBfest party
- Wednesday – exercise, drop off C’s birthday treat, pickup her books, work WW, out for lunch with co-workers
- Thursday – exercise, work, pickup L from Art Club party
- Friday – exercise, work
- Saturday – ZUMBA! Finally.
We are supposed to get some snow on Thursday, so that may throw a wrench in the Art Club party’s plans, but we’ll see what really transpires! I’ll also probably take one morning off from exercise, but I like to plan for it each day!

Good morning! It’s always awesome to start out my day with Zumba!
I don’t have much to recap in my life. Things are going well. I have one week left at my job. After that it’s 2 days a week for 2 weeks and then who knows. I’m going to be done on January 18th. I still have no idea what I’ll be doing for work after that.
My exercising is going well, my weight is good, things in general are just fine.
Today the girls go to their friend’s house at 1pm. Then they are going Christmas caroling and having a sleepover. Hubby and I are headed to Madison to Christmas shop, go out to dinner and grocery shop. It’ll be nice to come home to a quiet(er) house. We’ll pick up the girls sometime tomorrow morning and then we plan on baking some cookies in the afternoon. Since we didn’t get to go to the cookie bake this year, my girls are missing out on the fun of baking. We are doing the peanut butter blossoms (with a hershey kiss), spritz cookies and an oatmeal chocolate chip. Last week my oatmeal chips were a disaster, so it’s time for a new recipe.
On a sad note, my heart breaks for the families in CT. I try not to dwell on it, but I did hug my girls extra hard last night. I shed a tear while I watched the news this morning. Awful.
That being said, I’m going to focus on the positive! Have a good one.

Let’s see….I’ve been exercising, eating well, working and going to Zumba when I can. This afternoon was the Zumba Holiday Party and it was a fun time. It’s always fun to get a variety of instructors in one class and win a t-shirt to boot!
On the weight-loss front…I’m weighing in each Wednesday of this month at Weight Watchers. I need to really watch myself during the month of December. It seems that less sunlight coupled with more food leads me to gain weight and feel sad. Today is the 8th of the month and I’m feeling pretty darn good. The scale said 148.6# this morning which keeps me motivated to curb my night time snacking.
On the job front….I have two weeks left of 32 hours a week and then after that will be an ‘as-needed’ basis. I’m hoping to work that out with Dusty on Monday. Hubby has a guaranteed 6 week job starting on Monday. He’ll be doing masonry work like he has for years and it’s an hour away from home. Not much worse that when he was working in Madison and we’ll take another 6 weeks of paychecks. After that he could be asked to work somewhere else for this same company, but who knows. Once my time is up January 18 I’ll be looking around for some more permanent work. Doing what? Dunno…
Tomorrow I invited my inlaws over for lunch. They are both vegetarians now, so I had to call to see what they would eat. We are having a meatless version of the Italian Vegetable Beef Soup I made the other night. Awesome recipe and hearty too. More like a stew than soup really. I’m also making homemade bread and a side salad to go along with it. For dessert we’ll have fresh pineapple and grapes. It should be good. 🙂 They always have us over to their house for lunch get-togethers so I thought it was our turn to host.

- Monday – exericse at home, work, get kids from Tami’s house
- Tuesday – repeat of Monday
- Wednesday – exercise at home?, Zumba at 9am, work Weight Watchers, Zumba at 4:15pm, home for supper
- Thursday – exercise at home, work, pickup L from Art Club, work Weight Watchers, out for dinner for my work party
- Friday – rest, work, pickup kids from Tami’s
- Saturday – Zumba, kids go to friend’s house overnight, hubby and I shop and do our thang!

Good afternoon! How are thing going for you? Things here are pretty good, I started out my day pretty crabby but things are better now. I keep hoping TOM will come, but it hasn’t shown up since March.
So, after getting my eating back on track I’m back in the 140’s where I like to be. I vowed to weigh-in each Wednesday this month at work to keep my act together. I’ve been exercising at home, going to Zumba when I can and walking at lunch when the weather is nice.
I have 3 weeks left at my job. I wonder what will happen after that. Hubby is still unemployed, that sucks financially. Other than that things are going well for us. 😛
