Happy Easter!

Good morning! I thought about exercise this morning, but since I have 8 days in a row under my belt I took the morning off. 🙂 The scale was back down to 147.4#, thank goodness! I need to weigh in on Wednesday and really want it at a good number. 😛

Yesterday we picked up the girls’ pottery. I think they all turned out great!

After that we went bowling. We had a good time even though C started to lose hope. It was harder for her to get the ball where she wanted it to go, but I praised her for not giving up! After two games we were ready to head on home, but not before the girls got some ice cream. I’ll admit I did have 2 bites of C’s custard and it was delicious, or maybe the M&Ms were. 😛

Last night hubby took the girls swimming. L now has lovely patches of dry skin on her face from the chlorine. Their hair is also atrocious! I tried the raw egg treatment, remind me to never do that again. Can we say scrambled eggs in their hair after they washed it in warm water. I’m going for the baking soda treatment next and then the cider vinegar. If that fails I’ll get a harsher chemical treatment from our hairdresser.

Today is Easter that means the girls were up at 5AM to see if the Easter Bunny had hid eggs! 5am FIVE AM! Ugg…thank goodness he was up early and got the eggs hidden. 😛 Thankfully the girls go back to school tomorrow so they may be willing to go to bed at a decent time. L was staying up until almost 10pm reading.

My upcoming week isn’t too exciting, well, maybe a bit!

  • Monday – exercise at home, work Weight Watchers in the Dells
  • Tuesday – exercise at home
  • Wednesday – exercise at home, work Weight Watchers, our 15 year wedding anniversary!, taking L to school for the 4th grade girls education on how their bodies will be changing
  • Thursday – DOR?, work Weight Watchers at night
  • Friday – exercise at home, Zumba?
  • Saturday – exercise at home, Zumba?, 3pm leave for our weekend away! Massages!
  • Sunday – DOR? or exercise at the hotel, return home and then go back for Weight Watchers Celebrations meeting (2pm-4pm) at the same hotel we are staying at on Saturday.

Of course, if the weather warms up like they say I’ll be walking in the afternoon.

I also applied for another job on Saturday, I hope to hear about that too.

Today was gorgeous! The weather was wonderful. I took advantage of it and walked with a girlfriend this afternoon and then again with the family before supper!

My day was this, in bullet points…


  • Up at 4:30am
  • Worked out, elliptical and Workout 4 of 90 Day Revolution
  • Scale said 149.8#
  • Played Farkle with the girls
  • Listened to L play piano
  • Listened to C read
  • Played Word Fued
  • Walked with my friend
  • Filled up the van with gas
  • Ate a smoothie and read a book on the back porch
  • Walked with the family before supper
  • Played checkers with C
  • Watched them make crafts out of plastic eggs
  • Relaxing

Tomorrow is an at home workout (maybe), Zumba at 8:30am and shopping at Walmart after. The afternoon will be bowling and picking up the girls masterpieces (aka pottery)! Tomorrow later in the day I need to make Carrot Cake Cupcakes and a Fruit Salad recipe I found online. L thinks she wants to make oatmeal cookies, but I’m hoping she forgets! LOL They are my favorite cookie.

Sunshiney Thursday!

Good morning! We’ve been keeping busy around here.

Monday we went to the Paint It! store so the girls could paint pottery.

Tuesday L went to the Children’s Museum with a friend and then they both went swimming with dad while I went to Zumba, AT NIGHT! It was a great class, but I’m not much of a night exerciser.

Wednesday I worked at Weight Watchers and we were home the entire day otherwise.

Today the girls are meeting up with some friends for an hour or so of swimming. I work tonight at Weight Watchers.

This morning we dyed Easter eggs.

Friday the girls’ cousin is coming over to hang out. Hubby has a job interview in the morning. I’m hoping to go for a walk in the afternoon with a friend.

Let’s see, I’ve been working out. I did Workout 3 of the 90 Day Revolution this morning. Typically today is a day of rest, but after my eating disaster yesterday I decided to work out! Workout 3 is a tad more challenging, which I needed. So, back to my eating yesterday. Awful, plain and simple. The scale proves it by saying 150.2# this morning. I haven’t seen the 150’s since early in January. Temporary, but not good. Yeah, I know carbs make me retain water, but I’m still not happy about it. That being said. I’m on track for today and my mind is a bit better.

Even though I ate too much yesterday, we did manage to go for a walk after supper as a family. The girls rode their scooters and we did the mile loop around the neighborhood. The weather was just too nice to pass up. After supper (before the walk) the girls had an Easter egg hunt for us. Of course they contained M&Ms and jelly beans and of course I ate a bunch! LOL I love me some jelly beans!

Let me organize my mind a bit…

  • Thursday – girls swim at 1pm, hubby and I walk for the hour they swim, work at Weight Watchers
  • Friday – hubby has interview, niece over for a bit, walk in the afternoon with a friend
  • Saturday – Zumba, bowling in the Dells, pick up pottery, bake Carrot Cake muffins and jello salad for Easter
  • Sunday – day of rest or workout, Egg Hunt for the girls, Easter at inlaws house, hopefully walk in the evening if the weather cooperates
  • Monday – kids go back to school, Zumba, work Weight Watchers in the Dells

I forgot to add about the doctor. I gave my blood on Monday, still no results, but maybe by tomorrow. Anyway, my Doctor emailed me back and said this…

Your FSH is normal. This means your ovaries are talking to your pituitary and hypothalmus.
There is enough estrogen for your sexual characteristics.
The gilbert’s syndrome has no relationship with this problem.
I don’t think it is ovarian failure because your FSH is low.
I want the endocrinologist to check things out.
I have two more test results pending. I will let you know when they are done.
Hope this helps.

Okay, so the nurse was incorrect to say Ovarian Failure. Good to know. It’s still a mystery though.

Spring break!

Good morning! I’m not blogging each day because not much is going on! LOL I’m not off the wagon or anything, just living my life.

Saturday we had a baby shower for my sister in law Sara. Here’s a pic of her and the girls.

She’s due on May 14th and we can’t wait to meet him. 🙂

Sunday we had over C’s friend for the morning. They got along so well and it was nice for them to get together over break. In the afternoon hubby and I went to Aldi shopping and left the girls home alone. I did have a bit of anxiety about it, but everything was great. The girls were so great together yesterday it seemed like a miracle. Last night we played Farkle and watched Back to the Future II, since we saw the first one the night before. We still have III, but since Bones is on tonight I know we won’t watch it.

My morning workout was Workout 1 of 90 Day Body Revolution and 15 minutes on the elliptical. I’m going to Zumba at 9am too. Hubby’s at the pool right now doing his lap swimming. He called it ‘his’ Zumba! 😛 The home scale was at 148.4# this morning. Down 5# from a year ago.

After Zumba I have to go to the clinic for my blood draw to test my adrenal glands. I still haven’t heard from the clinic regarding my appointment with an endocrinologist.

This afternoon we are going to Wisconsin Dells to have the girls paint some pottery. I’m hoping afterwards we can walk around the downtown and act like tourists for a bit.

Good morning! I’m tired this morning, this old lady can’t stay out late. 😛

Yesterday was a Zumbathon to raise money for families dealing with cancer in Marquette County. It was an awesome time as the past two years have been! I got in a lot of dancing and sweating and enjoyed it all. Here are some photos I swiped from Tami to prove it!



Today is a day of rest for me. I didn’t get enough sleep and it was fitfull at best. Home scale was 148.8# and I need to talk to my doctor about continueing this higher fat diet. I guess I’ll know more after I get my blood work results. I’m going in Monday after Zumba for the blood draw. Hopefully that will provide some more answers for me.

This morning we are headed to the canned good movie, Rise of the Guardians. We are meeting up with L there since she was on a sleepover last night. This afternoon is the baby shower in a neighboring town. I have the punch ready to go, the ice ring frozen and the cookies done.

This week is Spring Break so the girls will be home all week. We have a few things going on during break, but nothing too stressful.

  • Saturday – Day of rest, Movie & baby shower
  • Sunday – Workout at home, AM playdate
  • Monday – Workout at home, Zumba at 9, Pottery in the afternoon
  • Tuesday – Workout at home, piano at 11
  • Wednesday – Workout at home, work Weight Watchers
  • Thursday – Workout?, afternoon swim date, work Weight Watchers
  • Friday – Workout at home, Zumba, Bowling in the afternoon

Also during this time hubby will take the girls swimming when the times work out.

I’m a failure!

LOL! No I’m not, but apparently my ovaries are! At least that’s what the nurse said when she called today. They think it’s Premature Ovarian Failure. Basically, I’m out of eggs! Or something like that. Anyway, I have to back in for more blood work and the clinic will be calling me with an appointment for an Endocrinologist. The plan of action will more than likely be an Estrogen patch and Progesterone pills 12 days a month. Joy.

Let’s see…I don’t think I posted yesterday. No I haven’t fallen off the wagon. Things are still going well. I’m working out, I went to Zumba this morning, etc. In fact I had a great surprise this morning. My friend Tami brought in her Jillian Michael’s 90 Day Revolution DVDs for me! Sweet! I know what I’ll be doing tomorrow morning. (*Thanks Tami!) My scale at home at me at 149.2# this morning, exactly the same as last Wednesday so I didn’t weigh-in at Weight Watchers.

What else….Oh, hubby didn’t get the job, BUT he has another job interview tomorrow morning at 8am. Besides that he also has a call in to go somewhere for masonry work. He’d rather see what this interview is all about though since it shouldn’t be so physically demanding on him.

Speaking of hubby, he’s turning into a swimmer lately. In fact, at 4pm today when the girls got home he told them they could go to the pool with him. They were stoked! I hope they all come home equally as happy. 🙂

Tomorrow I don’t have much going on. I have to get Easter Basket stuff since after Friday noon the girls will be home on Spring Break until April 1st. I can’t very well go shopping with them along.

Hmm…any other news? Oh, I am going to a Zumbathon on Friday night. This will make the 3rd year that I’ve gone to this particular one and I’m excited. It’s put on by the ladies from K Sabrosa which is the Zumba group from our town. The 1 1/2 hours just fly by! Afterwards we are going out again, I only hope I can stay awake! I may be drinking diet Pepsi at 9pm! LOL

Saturday is my SIL’s baby shower. I’m in charge of the punch and cookies. I found a punch recipe with diet ginger ale, light hawaiian punch and pineapple juice. I’m also making an ‘ice’ ring out of ginger ale, maraschino cherries, strawberries and oranges. I’m going to use my bundt pan for that. I made the cookies last weekend. They are cutouts of ducks and I dyed the dough yellow so I don’t have to frost them! LOL I’m just attaching some eyes with your basic powdered sugar icing. The other sweet treat is going to be frosted cupcakes so I figure people can get their sugar buzz from those.

Okay, I think that’s it. Oh, one more thing. Today is the first day of Spring. Really? It’s frickin’ cold out, BUT at least the sun was shining for most of the day. That sorta makes up for it, sorta….

Back to it!

Good morning! Yesterday was a day of rest and I did little to nothing physcial. We did go shopping a bit and found some new tennis shoes for L and a new shirt for C. I also made duck shaped cut out cookies for the baby shower on Saturday. I just need to attach the candy eyes I found at Walmart on Friday.

Today my workout was 10 minutes on the elliptical and then Level 1 of Ripped in 30 with Jillian. I’m also headed to Zumba at 9am. The scale said 149#, while I don’t like that number I don’t ‘feel’ like that number. Make sense? I feel like always, no bigger no smaller. 😛

I’m still doing well getting the fat into my diet and the extra calories. I also did a lot better about snacking last night. I did have an orange after supper, but nothing else. I did go to bed at 7pm to read though, that helped! LOL I don’t eat in bed. I eat in front of the TV and since nothing was on that I wanted to watch it was easy to not eat.

This coming week doesn’t have too much out of the ordinary. I am going to a Zumbathon on Friday though. I’m looking forward to that.

  • Monday – workout at home, Zumba, library
  • Tuesday – workout at home, piano lessons
  • Wednesday – workout at home, Zumba, work Weight Watchers
  • Thursday – workout at home?, work Weight Watchers
  • Friday – workout at home, early release from school, Zumbathon in the evening

Oh, hubby and I are set to go away for our anniversary. I have to firm up the details with the babysitter, but she’s going to stay overnight with the kids. We are getting a hotel room and a massage and a nice dinner out. It’s our 15 year anniversary so we thought we’d spend a little extra time away and some extra money on it.

I also called hubby’s aunt yesterday to make sure she’s hosting Easter this year. We thought about heading to Minnesota, but decided against it. Since they live just 10 minutes away, it’s much easier to go there! 🙂

Cabin Fever!

Seriously, this weather has to give at some point. I need sunshine & warmth! So does hubby, he’s ornery. 😛

Yesterday I was tired, exhausted, Zumba was a challenge. Today I’m doing a bit better. I slept until almost 6am and then hit the treadmill for a 30 minute run, just a tad over 3 miles. The scale was down to 147.4#, much better. I got in just over 50 grams of fat yesterday and it was tough since supper was homemade chicken nuggets and homemade fries. They don’t have a lot of fat in them. I did enjoy avocado and nuts though.

I received an email from my Dr. yesterday. Here it is…

Dear Angela,
I would give it about 3-6 more months.
I will set you up to see the endocrinologist.
I would like you to come back for a couple more blood tests to check your adrenal gland.
serum anti-adrenal and anti-21 hydroxylase antibodies.

If your tests are normal we will start you on an estrogen patch and a 12 day per month progesterone. This will mimic your own cycle.

I registered to walk a 2 miles Crazylegs race the end of April. So far 2 other Weight Watchers are doing it with me, we are hoping for some more. I ran the 8k in 2007, but I don’t feel like training for that again. A walk sounds much better. 🙂

No other news on our end, just trying to wait it out for Spring!

Still feeling it!

Good morning! I decided to not workout at home this morning and just head to Zumba at 9:30am. My legs are still killing me, but thankfully my arms a lot better. I did weigh in at 148.4# which has me happy. Yeah, I know, don’t put too much into the scale. However, since I’ve upped my calories and fat I just want to keep a grip on things. I know all to well how quickly things can spiral out of control! 😛 Thankfully this past year I have worked for Weight Watchers. It has kept me ‘mostly’ on the straight and narrow and has made me more empathetic to myself. For instance, I would never tell a member anything negative about a gain, therefore I should treat myself with the same kindness. 🙂

Last night at Weight Watchers a few of us decided we are going to walk the 2 mile Crazylegs Race in April. I ran the 8k in 2007 (I think), but I don’t have it in my anymore to run that far. A 2 mile walk is easy enough and a fun way to raise money for a good cause and to socialize with friends. I’m hoping the weather is cooperative and not rainy or snowy for that matter!

This girl is on fire!

Name that tune? Anyway, I’m not literally on fire, but my biceps, triceps, hamstrings and glutes are! Yowza, doing No More Trouble Zones yesterday along with Zumba Toning has left me very stiff this morning. I tried to work it out by running on the treadmill and then foam rolling this morning (even though Thursday is usually a day of rest). I think I need to keep up my stretching as the day goes on.

Yesterday, I got in just over 70 grams of fat and way too many extra calories. However, that seems to be my pattern on Wednesday so I’m just going with it. The home scale said 149# even. I’ll take it I guess, I just don’t EVER want to see 150 again, EVER!

At Weight Watchers yesterday it was just Sue and I again. Cheryl’s sister is in the hospital with breast cancer. Apparently her ‘herbal’ remedies aren’t working and she’s now doing very poorly. I feel awful for Cheryl. She’s lost her mother, father, uncle and tenants in the past year or so. I miss her at work and I hope things work out well for her and her family. We weren’t super busy yesterday which sort of suprised me. It was a sunny day and usually people will come out during nicer weather. I do work tonight too, so maybe some of those that weren’t there yesterday will show up tonight.

I’ve been keeping pretty busy this morning. I’m getting laundry done, I have bread rising now and I made homemade peanut butter. Beyond that I don’t have a lot to do. Tomorrow we meet with our insurance lady to discuss our rates. Hopefully we can get our premiums down a bit, but I’m not super positive about it.

Hubby’s interview went well. They said they’ll decide by early next week. The job was listed as a Jack-of-all-trades! He definitely fits that! They will decide soon because they are replacing TWO people that leave next week. We still have no idea what they pay, but the hours are 8am-4pm, with sometimes having to stay a tad past quitting time. They also said he’d have to come in on a Sunday evening to plow and snowblow if necessary. Not a huge deal since it’s literally 1 mile down the road.

Tonight hubby is taking the girls to Math & Science Night at school. It sounds like they have a lot of good things lined up for the kids to do and experiment with. It also solves the problem of hubby making supper since they’ll have walking tacos and Culver’s custard. Never turn down a free meal, right? 🙂
