Maple Syrup

Good morning! Today L has a field trip to the MacKenzie Center to learn about maple syrup. I feel bad that it’s only 18 degrees out right now. I’m hoping she’ll stay warm enough for the 2 hours of her field trip.

Yesterday L had her first piano lesson. She enjoyed herself and Mary says she’ll progress pretty quickly since she has learned a lot about notes in music class. I say do whatever it takes to get her going. If we need to buy more books, so be it. I just want her to learn to play the piano.

After lunch yesterday I decided to head out for a mile walk. It was a tad breezy and cold, but I got my mile in and I felt pretty good about it. Even though it was only 20 minutes it was outside and NOT in my basement. That counts for something. 🙂

My workout this morning was No More Trouble Zones for 55 minutes and I’m going to Zumba at 9am today too. I figured that was my cardio for the day. Since I feel like I’m slacking on strength lately I wanted to get in a hard-core workout. I’m feeling it!

The scale is at 149.2# that’s up 2.2# from last Wednesday. Hmm…I’m still going to keep up my increased calories and fat and see what happens. Yesterday I got in over 60 grams. I’m feeling a bit fluffy in my midsection, I keep hoping for the premenstrual bloat. Sorta! LOL

Hubby has his job interview this morning. I’m hoping it goes well, but I won’t find out until I get home around 2pm today.

Tough Tuesday!

Again, the alarm clock was unwelcome! 😛 I did get up to workout however. I did 15 minutes on the elliptical and then Level 2 of Ripped in 30 with Jillian. The home scale has me up to 149.4# UGG….not a number I want to see. It’s been 7 days of increased daily points and increased fat in my diet. The scale has me up almost 2#, but I don’t believe all of that is ‘real’ weight. Again this morning I can not get my rings on. That’s telling me I’m eating way to much sodium. I know I am. Especially at night. I’m always a work in progress and I’m not perfect.

Yesterday I earned 13 APs from working out at home, Zumba and then walking for 30 minutes on the treadmill in the afternoon. I got in 68 grams of fat yesterday and I also received test results from the lab. Of course, I don’t know how to interpret them correctly, but according to the numbers I’m low in estrogen and FSH. I emailed my doctor asking her how much longer I can go without having to use prescription intervention to get a period. I want to give changing my diet a shot. I’ll wait to hear from her about it.

In a few weeks our 15 year wedding anniversary is coming up and hubby booked us a hotel room and we are going to get some massages. Nothing too wild, but celebratory nonetheless. 🙂

Today I have nothing going on. I do have to drive L to piano lessons after school, but that’s about it.

Hubby applied at a job yesterday and they called him for an interview tomorrow morning. I’m hoping the pay is decent since it wasn’t posted. It’s close to home and that counts for something with gas prices being so high.

I got nothin’

Morning! I did not workout yesterday, instead I went shopping. I figured walking around was good enough since I felt like the living dead all day. Today is a bit better although my alarm was a rude awakening this morning.

My workout at home was a 40 minute run on the treadmill and I have Zumba at 9am. Home scale said 148.2# and I couldn’t get my rings on this morning. Too much sodium perhaps and not enough water. That’s my guess. I got in around 57 grams of fat yesterday and it was a struggle. I just didn’t feel very hungry yesterday.

Here’s my week in bullets…

  • Monday – home workout, Zumba at 9am
  • Tuesday – home workout, L starts piano lessons
  • Wednesday – home workout, work Weight Watchers, Zumba at 4pm
  • Thursday – home workout or day-of-rest, work Weight Watchers, hubby takes kids to Math & Science Night at school
  • Friday – home workout, Zumba at 9:30am
  • Saturday – home workout, Zumba at 8:30am, ground breaking at Library at 10:30am
  • Sunday – home workout or day-of-rest, bake cookies for baby shower

Yeah, not a lot happening. I told hubby I’m not getting a job, period. He’s just going to have to take care of us! 😛

I’m up, but not at ’em….

Good morning. I’m tired. I’m old. I can NOT stay up until 11pm any more. Especially since I was awake at 4am, or rather 5am, due to the time change. Regardless, I got 5 hours of sleep and I’m feeling it. The rainy weather doesn’t help me a bit. 😛

Yesterday we headed to the Dells to my friend’s hotel room. All the kids got to swim and I soaked up the heat of the hot tub! I definitely wish I had one at my house, it would get a lot of use. I tried taking some photos of the kiddos, but mostly got action shots that didn’t turn out. Here’s some that did.

After the kids were cleaned up and fed they headed home. My friends and I watched a bit of Pitch Perfect and then headed out to dinner. My food was fine and the restaurant was pretty neat inside, but we decided to head to Perkins for dessert. I think that was a great choice since it was much quieter there and we could talk for a couple of hours over dessert. It’s always nice to get to talk with everyone even if some ‘deep’ topics generally come up.

That leads me to today, did I work out? Nope, not yet, or not at all, I haven’t decided yet. I should go to Aldi today since are supposed to get MORE snow tonight and tomorrow. Nobody wants to go with me so I may venture out alone. I could/should walk a bit on the treadmill, but I have all day for that. I know that weights and hard core cardio are not in my sights today. The home scale was up to 148.4# this morning. No biggie! Oh, and I did estimate out my fat grams yesterday the best I could, I think 115 grams is plenty! LOL I’m pretty sure the 68 grams in the Peanut Butter Silk Pie took care of my recommended daily allowance. 😛

Ladie’s Night!

Good morning! My workout this morning was 10 minutes on the elliptical and then 30 minutes of my own arms, abs & legs workout. The home scale was 146.6#! (I think that’s my lowest weight in forever!) Apparently working out, eating more fat and calories is working well for me. Yesterday I got in 63 grams of fat.

Today will be a challenge. I’m going out for supper with my girlfriends tonight. The challenge will be I’ll have no real idea of my fat consumption. Therefore, I’m going to make sure I get in around 30 grams or so before we go out for dinner. That leaves 30+ for me to work with. I’m not sure what I’ll be eating tonight. I know it won’t be deep fried, but other than that I’m unsure. I always love to get Reubens and this place also has Mahi Mahi with Mango Salsa, so time will tell what I decide. Obviously the Reuben is loaded with more fat than the Mahi Mahi, unless they use butter on it, but it’s supposed to be grilled. Truthfully I’m not too worried about tonight. It’s one night, one meal and I’m going to enjoy myself and get back on track tomorrow. I may even indulge in some dessert! 😛

This morning I’m headed to the library with L. I have a book in and I’m going to read some magazines for a bit. We don’t leave today until 1pm, so we have quite a bit of time to get things done around here. I’m even taking my swimming suit along because I think a soak in the hot tub will be very nice!

More blood!

Ugg..the clinic called yesterday. Apparently the blood sample they took on Monday was only for the pregnancy test. The didn’t take enough blood to test my estrogen, so I have to go back in today. Sadly they used my good vein on Monday and now it’s bruised up, I hate giving blood.

Yesterday was day 3 of upping my fat. I got in around 57 grams, not in the 60’s like I wanted but pretty darn close. I also used 32 daily points instead of the 26.

My morning workout was 10 min. on the elliptical and then Level 3 of Ripped in 30. I’m going to Zumba at 9:30am today too! The home scale said 147#.

Ultrasound results.

Like I figured, nothing abnormal. I do have a small cyst in my ovaries, he assured me it’s SMALL and isn’t interfering with anything and is fairly common. My uterus looks good, but it is thin. Which my doctor already assumed. I’m sticking with upping my calories and fat and see what I can do. I’ll continue to take one entire rest day per week and maybe, just maybe, I’ll change that to two days. 😛

I’m NOT pregnant!

Good morning! The sun is shining so brightly off the white snow this morning! I’m a tad blind when I look out the window. I love it though!

Let’s back up to yesterday. I went to Zumba, taught by my buddy Tami! Awesome as usual. Once I got distracted by a semi and when I looked back I was totally not doing what everyone else was! Whoops. 🙂 No bother, it’s always part of the fun.

After Zumba I went to work for Weight Watchers. My weigh-in for the month was 148.2#, down 1.8# from last month’s weigh-in. I was happy with that. We were super busy yesterday, we had 3 new people and tons of sales! Busy and fun.

How did I do on fat yesterday? I got around 67 grams or so. Good! Here’s how I did it.

  • peanut butter
  • canola oil
  • olive oil
  • egg
  • pistachios
  • goulash
  • cheese

I ended the day at way to many points, but that only means I used all my 26 daily points, plus my 49 weekly. I didn’t touch the 50 APs I earned. That all being said, I think if I’m going to be able to get enough fat into my diet and enough calories I’m going to have to adjust my points per day. Maintenance points are 32 per day instead of 26. I’m going to use that this week and see what happens. 🙂

Now on to today. It’s a day-of-rest! These days can be tough for me. I like being active, I’m used to it after 8 years! However, I know that I need this day off. My body needs it, my mind needs it, and my cycle needs it. The more I read about amenorrhea I know that rest is essential as is dietary calories and healthy fats. I got an email this morning from My Chart saying that my pregnancy test came back negative! I coulda told you that. No results on my estrogen levels yet. I’m curious to compare it to September’s results.

My home scale was up 1# to 148# this morning. That’s attributed to my jumbo bowl of cereal last night. 😛

How am I going to get in some fats today?

  • I had pb and almonds in my oats already.
  • I’ll use some oil in my cooking for lunch and possibly some avocado.
  • I’m at 18.5 grams already this morning.

This afternoon I have my ultrasound. I’m expecting nothing exciting from this test. Especially since I’m NOT pregnant, I won’t see a little baby waving back at me!

63 grams!

I got in roughly 63 grams of fat yesterday! Woot! Now to try for that again today. 🙂

My morning workout was 40 minutes of running on the treadmill. I was going to do weighs today, but I felt cardio was more up my alley. I’m also going to Zumba this morning at 9am. I was going to go even though the teacher wasn’t my favorite, then I got an email that my friend Tami is teaching instead! Bonus! My instincts were right then, GO TO ZUMBA! 😛 Home scale was 147# and I weigh in for the month at work today. I should come in under 150# which is what I was last month.

I didn’t mix up my breakfast this morning. I had chocolate peanut butter oats which surprisingly had almost 12 grams of fat in it. I did add in 1 t. of canola oil to up that number. Tomorrow I’m going to try a greek yogurt pancake recipe I found. I hope its good.

Yesterday was a snow day here. C played on her new Samsung Galaxy Tab2. I did have to put limitations on it since she would have stayed on all day! Hubby did find her a multiplication app to use. She also did regular math at home and read 3 chapters in her guided reading book. Later on in the afternoon the girls went outside with dad to play in the snow. I shoveled for 35 minutes so I felt I had enough snow time! LOL

L worked on some of her 5th grade curriculum yesterday. We’ve already gone through a short book on how a bill becomes a law and about plant power. We started one about weird science jobs. We are trying to go through them as a family and then we ask questions to each other after the chapters. L is also keeping a notebook with observations since she’ll be discussing them with her Learning Coach at school.

Early yesterday L and I went to Walmart shopping. We found a lot of great deals and for such a small amount of money it brought a lot of excitement to the girls. It also bought a few arguments about who gets to wear what, of course.

I work Weight Watchers today at noon and it’s just Sue and I again today. Cheryl isn’t coming in, I miss seeing her and hope to have her back next week. We are such a good crew that it’s nice when we are all together.

Tomorrow is my ultrasound. I hate the idea of a full bladder since I am notorious for going to the bathroom before I leave the house, but I’ll manage. I’m sure they’ll find out nothing is wrong (I hope anyway) and I just need to work on my diet. I think that when my doctor calls me about my results and what to do I’m going to see if I can give it a bit longer before I have to go back on a BC Pill.

Upping my fat!

It’s a slow process, but I’m working on it.

  • My breakfast had 10.35 grams of fat.
  • My cappuccino(s) had 4 grams.
  • My 1/2 T. of peanut butter and an apple had 5 grams.
  • My ginormous salad for lunch had 12.5 grams.
  • My fish oil capsule had 1.5 grams.
  • That totals 33.35 grams so far today.

I know I’ll be having a salmon fillet for supper (2.5 grams) too. Thankfully that puts me over my 30 grams for the day I was shooting for. I’m sure if I have popcorn tonight I’ll get another 5 grams from the olive oil and I don’t know what else I’m having with supper yet.

The fats where jalepeno string cheese, black olives, sour cream and guacamole. Yes, I bought some guac to try. I’m surprised that it’s pretty good! One 100 calorie pack is 3 points, but I only tried 1/2 of one for 1 point. I wasn’t sure what I’d think about it. I can see eating it a bit more.

We also bought some cashews. I’ll have to watch myself around those things. Thankfully I bought the smallest container! LOL

On another note, Walmart in town has great clearance prices. I got L another winter coat for $5. It’s a small from the women’s section. We also got a bunch of shirts for $3-4 each and we found a swimming suit for L. She’s outgrown her’s and one of them the elastic was shot. Since they are swimming on Saturday I thought we’d better find her something to wear!

The snow is still coming down and soon I’m going to go out and shovel for a bit. I need some more activity today! 🙂
