New Year’s Eve! See ya 2014.

Today is the last day of 2014. I’m focused on making 2015 my year. Did I set resolutions? No, nothing specific. I do want to treat myself better. I think I deserve that.

I read 116 books in 2014! That trumps 99 from 2013. ๐Ÿ™‚

I have two good eating days under my belt! I weigh-in today, eh, whatever about that.

The gym today was killer!

Wednesday’s WOD:
This will be a chipper to welcome in 2015! For time, perform 20 reps of these 15 movements in order…

20 Cals on the AD
20 Thrusters (75/55#)
20 Front Squats (75/55#)
20 Push Ups
20 Toes 2 Bar – knees to elbows
20 Box Jumps
20 OHS (75/55#)
20 Front Rack Lunges (75/55#) 10 each leg
20 Pull Ups – green band and small black band
20 Wall Ball shots – 14#
20 Sit Ups
20 Push Press (75/55#)
20 KB Swings – 30#
20 Burpees
20 Jumping Air Squats

It took me 21:41 to finish! It was tough and my lungs still burn a bit.

Monday & Tuesday

I’m sucking at blogging lately! Recap, Monday I got back on track with eating. No surprise there. ๐Ÿ˜›

I went to the gym and then we took the girls and their friends to Madison for an Art Class.

Monday’s WOD: Change in plans…
A) 5×5 Pause Front Squats, 2 min clock – 60# (1), 65# (1), 70# (3)
B) 6 Rounds on a 2min clock: 3 Cleans + 5 strict Pull ups – 75# cleans, black banded pull ups

Notes: Change in plans from the Squat Clean Thrusters. On the pause front squats, hold in the bottom of your squat for a full 2 seconds. You’ll need to keep your core tight! Hopefully this will help us get comfortable in the bottom of the squat which is also the catch position of your cleans… For B, the cleans should be about 70-75% of of your 1RM clean. Bands can be used for the pull ups.

C) AD: Max Effort in 5min – 71 calories (less than last time by 5 calories)

Notes, if anyone is really sad about not doing thrusters today, we may have time at the end of class for you to get your fix..

Tuesday’s WOD:
A) Overhead Squat (OHS): Build to a tough single in 10min. – go to 75#

B) Snatch Balance: Build to a tough single in 10min. – got to 65#

C) EMOM x6: 5 TnG power snatch, 115/75 – I did 55#

D) In 7min:
Row 1K AFAP 4:17
AMRAP burpees in the remaining time 25 burpees

L had her two friends sleep over last night and I’m taking them home on my way to work/piano lessons. I work 1-5 today and then nothing special will be going on. I was going to have my friend Rachel stop by but we are going out for lunch on NY day instead.

Catching up

Happy Saturday!

Where has the time gone? Let’s see….Christmas morning we ended up waking the girls up to open gifts since we had to get moving that morning to the inlaw’s house. I’d say the girls were very happy with all their gifts, but loved the major one the most. L got a camera and C got her own papason chair. We rearranged the furniture to incorporate her chair. So far I’m liking the new look.

Friday morning hubby and I got grocery shopping done since the fridge was pretty bare. I didn’t snag any good after Christmas deals since I just didn’t need anything in particular. Both girls got their hair trimmed up on Friday morning too, a needed thing for L and her long curly hair! In the afternoon the girls’ friends came over and they stayed busy the entire day! They all get along so great, I love to see it.

So now today is Saturday. I’ve exercised Friday & today and probably will walk again this afternoon. Sadly my back it out and I won’t have time for the chiropractor until Tuesday morning! I hope I can make it until then. At 11:30 all four girls are going to see Annie. After that L may have piano and/or we are going shopping at Goodwill and Walmart. I need to find some new bras and some new exercise clothes. Some of them I’ve had for years!

The girls are off school all next week and here is the upcoming week…

  • Sunday – workout at home, ?
  • Monday – gym, take girls to art class in Madison, lunch at Subway, work 2-5, roller skating for the girls?
  • Tuesday – gym, walk & watch TV, work 1-5, my best friend Rachel and her family will visit that evening
  • Wednesday – gym, walk & watch TV, work WW and weigh-in
  • Thursday – workout at home or DOR (depending on how I feel)
  • Friday – gym?
  • Saturday – workout at home, L has a sleepover?
  • Sunday – prepare for school the next day!

I’m not sure what else is going on over break, but I’m sure something will come up!

Merry Christmas Eve!

4 of us lovely ladies at the gym this morning! Great workout, my legs are so sore from the past two days that I’m looking forward to some time off from lifting!

WOD Wednesday 12/24
A. Deadlift: 3×3, AHAP, 2min clock – 135#, 140#, 145#
B. 2 TnG Cleans (squat) +1 Jerk; 5 sets, AHAP, 1:30 clock – 70#, 75#, 80#

Notes: Only 9 reps for the deadlift this week. Go heavy, but make sure you are practicing good form! For part B: As heavy as possible! Two full cleans followed by 1 jerk. Build over the 5 rounds.

C. For time:
50 American Swings, 24/16 – 30# KB
50 Box jumps, 24/20″
50 DU’s (scale: 150 single unders)
50 Push-ups
50 Sit-ups

Notes: 17min cut off – I finished in just under 10ย minutes and it was brutal!

On tap for today….

  • gym – done
  • walk & watch Hell’s Kitchen
  • get ready for working at WW
  • take girls with to work and weigh-in
  • eat at Pizza Ranch
  • movie at 2:30
  • bake bars for tomorrow and help L with her stuffing prep
  • supper? no clue what we are having!

“Plan” for tomorrow

  • sleep as long as the kids will let me!

  • sneak in some quick exercise (short run on treadmill maybe?)
  • clean up to go to inlaws at 9am
  • head to other inlaws around 10:30 or so
  • lunch with family
  • go for a quick walk?

Happy 10th Birthday!

Today is C’s 10th birthday! On my way home from the gym I picked up a small donut and a lottery ticket for her. She was taking her treats in today, she made candy cane reindeer and snowmen string cheese. They are also having a party today so I know there will be enough food going around! LOL

Tuesday’s WOD:
A) Press: 6×5, Build from last week, 2:30 clock – 55#, 60#, 65#

B) Power snatch: 5×3, TnG, Heavier than last week, 1:15 clock – stayed at 60# for it all

C) 5 Rounds, each on a 2:15 clock:
25 cals AD
15 KB Swings

This workout sucked! I only had 2 seconds to recover before round 2 started, so basically it was one continuous workout for 10 minutes! Lung scorcher for sure.

So, yesterday two of my coworkers called in sick and last week a third one was out Friday & Saturday. Knock on wood, but I better not get sick! I do have to go in a 1/2 hour early today to relieve someone for lunch, but I’d rather do that than work an eight hour shift.

On tap for today….walk & watch TV, clean up, get supper in the crockpot, get a haircut, work 12:30-5, come home and hang out with the birthday girl! Tomorrow is….gym, walk & watch TV, work WW and weigh-in, lunch out with the girls, movie at 2:30 and home again home again, jiggity jig!

Monday….Monday…

Happy Monday! I did nothing yesterday, nothing, except eat. ๐Ÿ˜› Back to healthier habits today.

MONDAY’s WOD:
A) Back Squat: 10×3, Build to AHAP, 2min clock… – 90# (2), 95#(2), 100# (6)

Notes: You should be able to go up in weight a little from last week and a lot from 12/8. We are doing the same number of reps as two weeks ago, but they will be broken into more sets.

B) EMOM x16:
Odd- 10 Alt’g Lunges (5R/5L), 50/35#
Even- 8 KB-C&J, 50/35# – I used a 25# for all.

I’ll be off to work soon and then trying to get things done before I get the girls from school!

Ready for Christmas…

Happy Sunday morning.

L is off shopping with friends, hubby is at Menards and C is going to start reading. Therefore, the house is quiet.

Yesterday I worked until 2pm and the girls and I headed out for a little shopping. L bought her friend’s their gifts and I got some last minute items for the upcoming week. C helped make supper last night and we all watched a movie together.

Today is a DOR for me and I plan to lay around the house and read and watch TV. ๐Ÿ˜›

This upcoming week looks like this….

  • Monday – gym, work 8:45-1, walk & watch TV, p/u girls from school, take L to Tivoli to play music for the elderly
  • Tuesday – gym, walk & watch TV, haircut (woohoo!), work 1-5, C’s 10th Birthday!
  • Wednesday – gym? (not sure if it’s open) or workout at home, work WW and weigh-in, take girls to Pizza Ranch for lunch then the 2:30 movie, bake bars for Christmas and L is making stuffing.
  • Thursday – workout at home after we open gifts, inlaw’s at 9am-10:30am, leave there to go to other inlaw’s house for lunch, maybe fit in a walk if the weather is good,ย hubby’s Birthday!
  • Friday – gym?, girls have friends over all day and for a sleepover.

So, I’ve been on track with my eating M-F this past week. Yesterday was pretty good but I did indulge in caramel corn from a coworker and some cereal last night. That just means I’m down to 0 WPA for today since my points reset tomorrow. I do have around 40 APs though for the week. I’m confident I will have a loss on the scale or at least the same as a few weeks ago.

No work, but lots of working OUT!

Happy Frickin’ Friday! Woohoo! I’m so happy I don’t have anything I HAVE to do today. Awesome!

I realize I didn’t post yesterday, so I’ll recap a bit. I’ve been eating great! I did not weigh-in on Wednesday, but I did step on my scale at home. The week prior I got on too, with all my clothes and tennis shoes and saw a horrific number. I knew eating better would resolve that a bit, but not enough, so I did the same thing on Wednesday. I was down 3# or more, but I still chose not to weigh-in until next week. I have 4 solid days of eating well happening and I’m sticking with that today too.

Thursday was a DOR for me and when I got home the internet was down due to some fiber optic cable being cut, but it was up around 4pm or so. Probably another reason I didn’t blog. Anyway, I worked WW last night and we had a member make lifetime! She’s lost a tad over 95# this year and is feeling a lot better! Congrats to her!

This morning I woke up before my alarm and headed to the gym a bit earlier to do some stretching with a band before everyone got there.

Friday’s WOD:
A) 2K row for time – New PR for me 8:51, I shaved off 3 seconds from last month!

Rest 5min

B) 10 min AMRAP:
15 Air squats
10 Push-ups
5 Pull-ups – green band – I got 7 rounds, plus the squats & push-ups done.

Notes: We’ll have to row in heats and have a running clock. When you’re finished your 2K rest 5 minutes then start your 10 minute AMRAP.

I did a few front squats too since I missed that workout on Thursday.

On tap for today….more exercise, walking and watching Hell’s Kitchen is in order. I should clean my kitchen, but probably won’t! LOL Or the bathroom…..we’ll see.

On a roll…

Tuesday was another good day of eating and exercise. C got her new wires on her braces yesterday and is on soft foods again. I need to get her another protein shake for her lunch tomorrow. I forgot for today, bad mom. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ She did go with yogurt, applesauce and a pb & j sandwich.

Last night was early to bed to finish reading my book. I was having a wonderful dream last night and didn’t want to get up, but I knew I wanted to get to the gym since Thursday is my DOR.

Wednesday’s WOD:
A) Dead Lift: 5×1.1.1, rest :15/2:00, build from last week – 135#, 140# (2), 145# (2)

B) 3 TnG Cleans +1 Jerk: Build from last week, 2:30 clock – 70# for all 3 rounds

C) 5 Rounds, each on a 2:30 clock:
3 Deadlifts, 275/185 – I did 135#
15 box jumps, 24″/20″ (bounding or step-down) – step ups on 20″ box

Notes: If you feel comfortable jumping to a taller box then scale up. Focus on these box jumps! No misses.

Long workout this morning though, I got home around 6:20ish. The girls were a little slow getting ready, but they were done in time for the bus. I helped C with her lunch this morning, something I don’t usually do.

I’m going to walk & watch Hell’s Kitchen and then shower up for working at WW. I’m not sure if I’m ready to face the scale after only 2 days of eating well, so I may pass until next Wednesday. I have 3 more weigh-ins before I have to report my weight for the month. I’m thinking in 2015 I need to weigh-in weekly. I know I say that all the time, but it may help.

A good day was had…

Monday = Good Day

I slept well last night and despite some soreness I was ready for the gym.

Tuesday’s WOD:
A) Press: 6×5, build from last week, 2:15 clock – 60# & 65#

B) Snatch: 5×3 TnG, AHAP with PERFECT technique, 1:15 clock – I did 55# the whole time, squatting was tough today.

C) 4 rounds for max reps:
1 min AMRAP KB C&J, single KB, 50/35 – 25# KB
1 min AMRAP Pull-ups – green band
1 min AMRAP HRPU

C had her ortho appointment this morning and got a thicker wire put on, she said she can feel the tightness. We go back the first week in March. Hubby is home today due to the rain and I work at 1pm.
